I have now learned not to even look at the sweets at the paypoint. I just ignore it and say to myself that they aren’t there. This keep me from not grabbing some of them.
I also avoid the snack isle completely.
I also learned to shop with a list. Therefor I know what I need and stick to it instead of guessing and then grabbing unhealthy things.
Great piece and such great advice.

Nice post and several good points. A good organized shopping list definitely helps as you point out. There was also a study where the put some duct tape separating the grocery cart in half and a note to use one side for fruits and vegetables, and this significantly raised the number of healthy fruits and vegetables people got.

Very true to go shopping after food and have a list and stick with it. I still have a bit of problem sticking to the list, but its a good start. Thanks for the tips.

Nice advice, i find that whenever I grocery shopping on a full stomach, i never come back with enough food.

I also try reading the nutrition labels to avoid as many products that include “high fructose corn syrup” in the top 3 ingredients but unfortunately most of the products in a supermarket have fall in that category

They always say to avoid the middle isles! All the good stuff seems to be on the outer rows of the grocery store.
