So, you need a health reason to drink beer? Now, you may have it.
A brewery has produced a low-malt beer with milk and it is called “Bilk” which came from the word for “Beer + Milk”.
The inventor had the idea after he found out the diary companies threw away huge amount of surplus milk. The son of the manager of a liquor store then suggested his idea to his dad and the diary company. One third of the bilk is milk, but don’t try to do it yourself at home by pouring 2/3 of a glass of beer and filling the rest up with milk. It does not work this way. The brewery had to take special care in production, because milk has a low boiling point. Bilk looks like tea with milk during fermentation, but more like the color of beer afterward.
If you wonder what the taste of bilk is, according to people who have taken part in tasting session, the drink has fruity taste. Each 330 millimeter is about 380 yen (about US$3) and it is restricted in few areas in Japan.
So, next time if you want to get drunk and want to get some protein or calcium, go get the bilk! (I will stick to milk.)

Beer + milk does not even sound like it would sit well in my tummy. Have you ever wanted to drink milk after drinking a beer? Me neither… LOL!
I guess it is a nice gesture that they are wanting to put the (otherwise wasted) milk to some sort of good use. :)

Haha. I couldn’t see that taking off over here in the UK. Whilst it is quite a novel idea and it would be healthier than normal beer it just doesn’t sound right. I can’t see people going for it. However, I would definitely try it to see what it’s like if I got the opportunity. I just think I would need a lot of convincing to drink it on a regular basis.
