The society is changing. V družbi se spreminja. Raising a child to maintain a healthy body weight and the right attitude towards towards food is getting tougher. Dvig otroka ohranjanju zdrave telesne teže in prav odnos do hrane je vse močnejši. Obesity (because of overeating) or underweight (because of eating disorder) is some of the challenges which parents are facing nowadays. Debelost (zaradi overeating) ali premajhno (zaradi prehrambenih motenj) se nekatere izzive, ki so starši se soočajo danes. Today, I would share with you how my parents, especially my mum, played the role in influencing my eating habit. Danes bi rad delil z vami, kako so moji starši, še posebej moji mami, igrala vlogo pri vplivanju na moje prehranjevalne navade.
I remembered when I was in kindergarten and primary school, I would spend part of my pocket money, given by my parents, to buy junk food at school canteen. Sem se spomnil, ko sem bila v vrtcu in osnovni šoli, bi porabili del žepu denarja, ki so jih moji starši, da kupujejo junk hrano v šoli menzo. I would have to hide them in my drawer at home if I wanted to share it with my siblings. Jaz bi moral skriti v mojem predalu na dom, če sem hotel deliti z moje brate in sestre. Mum would scold me if she found out. Mama bi me, če je Grditi zvedel. My favorite was actually sweetened chewing gum, and not really the crispy potato chips. Moja najljubša je bila dejansko sladkani žvečilni gumi, in ni res hrustljavo čipsa.
As I lived in a small town, I could only see fast food as shown in the TV advertisements. Only if my family traveled to a big city once in a blue moon, we would eat fast food and that because my parents decided to spoil us for a day. Ker sem živel v majhnem mestu, lahko vidijo le hitre hrane, kot je prikazano v TV reklam. Mum would briefly mentioned that eating fast food was unhealthy each time but my brothers and I were just busy paying attention to the finger-licking fried chickens. Mum did not feed us with any junk foods though she knew how much we loved those food when we stood in front of the ice cream machines during each grocery shopping trip. Mama ni krme nas z vsemi junk živil, čeprav je vedel, koliko smo mi ljubili tiste hrane, ko sva stala pred sladoled strojev v vsakem Mješovita nakupovalni izlet. Sometimes, my mum would give us signal to take one or two, but most of the time we were not that lucky. In the fridge, I would never see bottles of soft drink and Coke or 7-Up becomes a precious item for me during festivals. What was inside the fridge instead was loads of fruits including oranges, apples, mangoes and pears bought by my dad. One of the things which I wish I would have done when I were small is to eat more vegetables. Ena od stvari, ki Rad bi naredil, ko sem bila majhna, je jesti več zelenjave. I was very picky and ate only few I liked such as tomato and carrot, probably because of their attractive color. Much persuasions have been done by mum to encourage me to eat more vegetables, including using the cartoon character Popeye to get me eat more green vegetables. When I came to study in big city, I did feel like a prisoner who has just gained freedom in terms of choice of food. McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza hut, Kenny Rogers Roaster, and Burger King were the common places I ate out. McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, Kenny Rogers peče in Burger King so skupne kraje sem jedel zunaj. Not forget to mention the roadside stalls. Ne pozabi omeniti cesti stojnice. My healthy eating habit disappeared overnight. Moj zdravih prehranjevalnih navad izginili čez noč.
After college days, I went to study in the UK. Po kolegiju dnevi sem odšel na študij v UK. I cooked with my friends because we could not afford to eat out. Mojo z kuhana I prijateljev zaradi nas ni mogel privoščiti jesti zunaj. Though I was not a good cook, I had great time shopping for fresh meat, fish and vegetables. Čeprav nisem bil dober kuhar, sem imel veliko časa za nakupovanje, svežega mesa, rib in zelenjave. I learned how to read food labels too. Sem se naučila, kako se glasi oznakah preveč. Whatever my mum told me since I was small started to apply. Ne moja mama mi je povedala, ker sem bil majhen je začel uporabljati. What is more important is that I realized how much I have missed home cooked food. Kaj je bolj pomembno je, da sem spoznal, koliko sem zamudil domača hrana.
I grew up knowing what healthy eating is and I am glad that I rediscover it in my adult life. When I looked back, I am glad that I have loving parents. Odraščal sem vedela, kaj je zdrava prehrana in sem vesela, da sem ponovno odkriti to v moji odraslo življenje. Ko sem pogledal nazaj, sem vesela, da sem ljubeči starši. It was indeed a wise decision for dad not to spoil us with much pocket money when were small. Bilo je res pametno odločitev za očeta ne plijen nam veliko žepnino, ko so bili majhni. My mum may not have sit down and tell me why she did the things 20 years ago, but I have learned so much from her. Moja mama ne more imeti usedel in mi povej, zakaj je naredil stvari, pred 20 leti, ampak sem se naučil toliko od nje.

ya whatever parents do is for our good only..I too miss my moms food as im staying in hostel.. ya kar starši storiti, je za naše dobro .. samo jaz preveč pogrešal moje mame hrane kot im prebivajo v hostel ..

My mom is exactly the same as your mom where we aren't allow any junkies or ice cream at all. Moja mama je ravno enako kot tvoja mama, če mi ne dovolijo nobene junkies ali sladoled na vseh. The 'worst' junkies she allow us (with her permission) were only a certain amount of biscuits, cookies, cakes, chocolates or candies (mostly mint candies only). V "najslabšem" junkies je omogočil, da bomo (z njenim dovoljenjem), so bili samo določeno količino piškotov, keksov, slaščic, čokolade ali bombone (večinoma mint bonboni samo). Very rarely or maybe on special occasion we got to to eat fast food or ice-cream. Zelo redko ali pa na posebne priložnosti, da imamo za jesti hitre hrane ali sladoleda.
But on the other hand, my dad loves to spoil us with junkies and fast food! Ampak na drugi strani, moj oče ima rad, da plijen nam junkies in hitre hrane! I remember my dad used to get me ice-creams or any junk food I want, whenever he fetches me home from school. Spomnim se moj oče uporablja za me sladoleda ali kateri koli junk hrane hočem, kadar koli je fetches me domov iz šole. That's whe reason why I always looked forward to him fetching me. Whe To je razlog, zakaj sem vedno veseli, da ga pridobivam me.
As kids, my brother and me sometimes will buy junk food from school canteen secretly. Kot otrok, moj brat in jaz včasih bo kupil junk hrane iz šolske kantine skrivaj. The worst case I rememeber was we both got canned badly when our mom discovered a toy we played was actually a free gift from the junk food we bought!! V najslabšem primeru sem rememeber bila oba dobila pločevinkah slabo ko naša mama odkrila igrača smo igrali je bilo pravzaprav dar od junk hrane bomo kupili! (she saw it in the TV advertisement!) (ona videla v TV oglasu!)
Like you said we have all the freedom to eat whatever we want during our college and University days. Kot si rekel, da smo vsi svobodo jesti kar si želimo v našo visoko ter univerzitetno dni. Nobody can stop us. Nihče naju lahko ustavi. That was blissful! To je bilo blaženo! :-) But later in life as working adult I realized I need to look good and signed up for gym. :-) Vendar pa kasneje v življenju, kot delajo odrasli sem spoznal moram videti dobro in se prijavili za telovadnice. From then on I'd discovered the importance of healthy eating and exercising regularly. Od takrat sem odkril pomen zdravega prehranjevanja in ki redno. I started to read many fitness and health books/magazines too. Sem začela brati veliko fitnes in zdravje knjig / revij preveč. Slowly I changed my eating habits and lifestyle and it does help a great deal! Počasi sem spremenila moje prehranjevalne navade in življenjski slog in ne pomaga veliko! Nowadays if I miss gym for more than 3-4 days I feel uneasy. Danes, če sem zamudila telovadnica za več kot 3-4 dni počutim Uznemiren. If I ate a piece of cream cake, fried chicken or any junkies I feel bad and try to compensate by workout more. Če sem pojedla košček torte smetano, ocvrt piščanec, ali kateri koli junkies počutim slabo in poskusiti nadomestiti s Uvježbavanje več. Or course once in awhile I do indulge my temptation but never over do. Ali v času, ko nekaj časa delam Odavati mojega skušnjavo, vendar nikoli več naredil. Unfortunately I still can't change my sleeping habit till today! Žal še vedno ne morem spremeniti moje spalne navade do danes! (I sleep very late) :-P (Spim zelo pozno):-P

Yeah, when I was young, my mom made sure we eat healthy meals. Ja, ko sem bil mlad, moja mama je prepričan, da jedo zdravo obroke. She got up at 5am to cook lunch before leaving to work at 6.45am. Ima na 5 kuhati kosilo pred odhodom na delo ob 6:45. Both my parents were away working so I ate LOTS of junk food, drank carbonated drinks, sweets which was readily available at 2 provision shops just within walking distance- all behind my parents' back. Obe moji starši so bili zunaj delovnega zato sem pojedel veliko od junk hrane, pili gaziranih pijač, sladkarij, ki je bila takoj na voljo 2 določba trgovinah samo znotraj hoje vse za mojim staršem "nazaj. Then when I went to study in Penang, I 'let it all go' and ate whatever I like in the food paradise. Potem, ko sem šel na študij v Penang, sem pustil vse to go "in jedla kar mi je všeč v živilski raj. Gosh, how I paid heavily for my health. Joj, kako močno sem plačana za moje zdravje. Suffered from constant tiredness and sugar addiction- and only intensive 'exercise therapy' is now curing it. Utrpela škodo zaradi konstantno utrujenost in sladkorja zasvojenosti in samo intenzivno izpolnitvenem zdravljenja "je zdaj vulkaniziranju it. Guess it's a blessing in disguise – else, I would never start my blog and help others :) Izgleda, da je blagoslov Maskirati - drug, jaz ne bi nikoli začeli svoj blog in pomagati drugim:)

Sleep very late, i never slept before 3 that was about 3 years ago, change ur gym shedule to morning ..wake up no matter what and drag urself to the gym.. Mirovanje zelo pozno, nisem spala do 3, ki je bila približno 3 leti, sprememba ur telovadnice shedule do jutra .. zbudi se, ne glede kaj in povlecite urself v telovadnici .. and tell me again u can't sleep early by the end of the day ..it shd help.. in povej mi še enkrat in ne more spati zgodaj do konca dneva .. SHD je pomagal .. it's painful have to wake up so early but then after a while u will get used to it .. je boleče, da so se zbudim tako zgodaj, ampak potem čez nekaj časa in bo uporabljena za to ..

Apart from ice cream, my mom never fed me with junk food when I was a kid. Poleg sladoleda, moja mama mi nikoli krmljene z junk hrano, ko sem bil otrok. These days, my mom, who is almost 70, stocks up on snacks and other foods with empty calories at home. Te dni, moja mama, ki je skoraj 70, zaloge na prigrizke in drugih živil, s praznim kalorij na domu. I guess she is trying to catch up with what we missed out on previously. Mislim, da se poskuša nadoknaditi s tem, kar smo zamudili na prej.

my mom used to spoil us with tonnes of fruits and vege, though she never banned fastfood, ice cream or junkies, but we were pretty much aware that they are bad for us. moja mama uporablja za plijen nas ton sadja in zelenjavo, čeprav je nikoli ni prepovedana fastfood, sladoled ali junkies, vendar smo bili precej zavedati, da so slabo za nas. i am glad to have my mom! Vesel sem, da ima moja mama! :D : D

my parents are the opposite. Moji starši so nasprotni. they always had junk in the house and it was impossible to get away from it. se vedno je junk v hiši in je bilo nemogoče pobegniti od nje. even when i moved out i still had the habbit. celo, ko sem se preselil sem še imela habbit. i am trying to lose weight now and i cant seem to finde the right way to do it. Poskušam izgubiti težo in sedaj ne morem videti, da finde pravi način za to. i need help! Potrebujem pomoč!
