A good night’s sleep is so essential for your health and well being. It is so difficult to sleep well on a poor quality mattress. When it comes to protecting your back and getting a good night’s sleep, the mattress that you choose is key. A poor mattress can have a negative impact on the health of your back and spine.

  • Sleep is so important for many reasons. Here are the most important reasons why you can’t skimp when it comes to getting the proper amount of sleep.
  • When you are sleeping, your body is repairing your blood vessels and your heart. Lack of sleep for a long period of time can lead to diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, heart disease, and kidney disease.
Sleep helps your brain function properly. Your brain has to prepare for the next day and it does so while you are sleeping.
  • When you are sleeping, your body releases a hormone that promotes normal growth. It boosts the mass of the muscles and helps repair tissue.
Sleep deprivation also affects the ability of your immune system to fight off diseases. Without maintaining a good amount of sleep each day, your body may not be able to fight off common illnesses that a well-rested body would be able to fight off.
  • Quality sleep helps your overall functionality the next day. If you are drowsy, it can be very dangerous to operate heavy machinery. It affects your productivity, not to mention your decision making. If you are driving while you are sleep deprived, you may even fall asleep at the wheel, which is not only putting yourself in danger, but you are putting those on the road at risk. Evidently, a lack of sleep can result in catastrophic events.

You know how important sleep is to your well-being. It is so important to make sure that you choose the right mattress so you are able to sleep well. There are times when it seems like buying a high-quality mattress will cost too much and take away from the other important things that you need to buy. However, if you think about the damage that your old mattress is doing to your spine and its impact on your quality of life, you will think twice.

If your mattress is not providing the support that you need to keep your spine aligned properly, you will wake up with aches and pains. Overtime, these occasional aches and pains become chronic ones that you end up needing pain injections or surgery for. The time that you spend missing work for doctor’s appointments and other pain related absences will add up to well over the amount of extra cash that you will spend on a quality mattress. Don’t hold out for a mattress sale, there is plenty at stake here. Invest in a mattress that will satisfy your specific needs and have your back for years to come.

Since you spend one third of your life sleeping, you want to make sure that you have a mattress that is going to protect your back and one that allows you to get some much needed sleep. Overtime, your mattress loses its ability to support your weight and this can lead to an improper spine position. A mattress that is not replaced every couple of years will begin to deteriorate and that can reduce the amount of support that it gives your back. This leads to discomfort and pain, which in turn can lead to lack of sleep and other complications. Do not put off the purchase of your mattress for any longer!
