Every Girl Needs a Fat Friend?

Recently I read an interesting article “Why every woman needs a fat friend”. It is a long article. Just in case you don’t have time, here you go for the highlights:

  • The author mentioned that any slim woman will look much beautiful when she is next to a fat friend.
  • Therefore, when woman needs a confidence boost, she goes out with fat friend. One example will be celebrities themselves. Instead of hanging out with other celebrity friends are gorgeous, they always go out with other normal fat friends.
  • Some women prefer to go shopping with fat friends. They feel better when they buy size 10 while their fat friends are struggling with a 16.
  • Furthermore, clubbing together with fat friend will make sure the pretty girls have no competition in picking up guys. All the eyes will be on you and you can always have a peace of mind that someone is watching your drink and handbag.

Interesting points or is it just a satire?

It is an issue which I believe that some of you have in mind too but just afraid to say. It is just not right to do to your fat friend?

If what the author said is true, then we may have problem. Why?

You see, every woman needs a fat friend. So, this fat friend is fatter than you. Then, her fat friend is larger than her. So fat friend of previous fat friend is getting larger and larger. Someone tremendously large woman, probably larger than the whale or the Optimus Prime, will have to stay in the stadium. Pyramid scheme of weight obsession.

Another point to ponder – fat friend may know that she is being used by the slim friend. But that may be acceptable knowing that she probably will not be invited for parties if not because of the slim friend. So, slim friend brings her for clubbing and meeting good looking hunks. Free drink and no cover charge with free taste of glamour. In a way, fat friend may be using slim friend. So, both parties are using one another?

Seriously, some girls whose size is huge is still popular among guys when comes to life partner selection. Similarly, guys with big spec and nerdy look can still be popular among girls.

What do you think? If girl needs a fat friend, for guy, does he need a nerd friend too?

Mun, unfortunately you might be right. I’ve seen lots of examples of the skinny+fat girl combo.

I have been the fat friend. It’s not fun knowing that you are the fat friend (and you ARE aware of it!!!), funny thing is. I was the prettier one and got the guys who wanted relationships. She got the guys wanting one thing…
    There’s always trade off’s.

Thanks to exercise i’m no longer the fat friend, but i’ve got a way to go till i’m the skinny one! Women are mean! :)

See that is an example of why women get the reputation of being catty. I don’t have have fat friends. I have friends.

That is why I am glad that I am in a field that is pre-dominated male (engineering). And the women that I work with are smart enough not to bring cattiness to the office.

At a size 10, I feel like the fat friend but I know it’s all in the mind. It’s true that skinny girls love going out with their chubby girl friends because they are the best “wingmen”. No competition at all and happy to be going out.

People can be so shallow, the lengths that we go to, to feel good about ourselves

That’s so mean! I am friends with heavier people, and I am NOT heavy, but I would never use my heavier friends like that. First, it makes them feel bad, secondly, I am betraying their trust in me, and thirdly, I am acting like a jerk if I use them in that manner.
