How Long Should You Brush Your Teeth?

According to a research done by Newcastle University that teeth not necessary is cleaner if you brush your teeth longer and harder. If you use brute force, you can damage the protective layer on the teeth and hurting your gums. The researchers recommend people to brush their teeth for about 2 minutes and apply pressure equivalent to the weight of an orange at 150 grams. Go find an orange with that weight and put it on your teeth, feel it, then use that force to brush your teeth.

I normally brush my teeth between 2 to 3 minutes, twice a day. I know some people are using the length of a song on radio to determine the right amount of time to brush teeth. A typical song lasts about 2 to 3 minutes. Not a bad idea. I also have friends who told me they spend less than 30 seconds to brush teeth with the excuse they are rushing time for work.

How about you, how long do you brush your teeth?

I brush mine for two minutes, morning and night, 7 days a week and use this 2 minute egg timer thing my dad got for my younger brother :-) Then. i use mouthwash afterwards.

I brush my teeth 7 times a day, once a week, at 18 minutes each time.

I brush my teeth for about 2-3 minutes twice a day. I think it’s not how long you brush your teeth but how you brush that matters. Of course brushing too long is bad too.

One should brush vertically and not horizontally, starting from the gum. And yes, use minimum pressure or else you will damage the outer layer of the teeth.

My hygenist told me to brush the gums as well, even if they bleed.

I’m honest. I’m lucky if I spend 45 seconds brushing my teeth 2 twice a day. Dentist’s happy with them, they don’t hurt, aren’t crumbling, so I supose they’re fine

i always brush my teeth more than 5 minute long because i feel really fresh after brushing…if i spend time lower than that i just feel like it’s not clean enough then i can’t close my eyes and sleep well that night ….i also use the mouth rinse after the brushing is done also….it helps a lot ^________________++
