Some of the young Ryan Phillippe’s old photos:

Ryan Phillippe’s Workout
Ryan’s trainer has been working with him for ten years. I believe that the trainer is good, otherwise Ryan will not be able to stick to his workout routine for a decade.
Ryan does not stick with just a single routine. He likes variety in his workout, blending heavy weights with cardiovascular exercise in addition to plyometrics.
He begins his warm up with a 2 mile run followed by 3 sets of 20 repetitions of swiss ball crunches. The run and the core muscle workout help get his body loose and ready for the next workout.
Ryan Phillippe Workout Circuit Number 1
- Exercise 1 – Dumbell Bench Press (15 repetitions.)
- Exercise 2 – Plyometric Push Ups (15 repetitions). Ryan does full clapping plyo push ups which his hands and feet leave the ground and then clap in mid air.
- Exercise 3 – Barbell Squat (15 repetitions).
- Exercise 4 – Jump Squats (15repetitions)
- Exercise 5 – Hanging leg raises (20 repetitions).
After completing the first circuit, he rests 2 minutes and starts the next one.
Ryan Phillippe Workout Circuit Number 2
- Exercise 1 – Wide grip pull ups (15 repetitions).
- Exercise 2 – Close Grip Chin Ups (10 repetitions).
- Exercise 3 – Dumbbell Lunges (10 repetitions).
- Exercise 4 – Plyo Lunges (10 repetitions per leg). Ryan jumps in between lunges and switch legs in the air.
- Exercise 5 – Back to the hanging leg raises again (20 repetitions).
Ryan’s above workout is quite balance, incorporates both free weight and body weight. He does them three times a week. The trainer occasionally makes changes to the routine giving unexpected exercises. Ryan never has a monotonous routine. When he has something new to look forward to, he never get bored in exercising.
Ryan Phillippe’s Diet Plan
Ryan follows a low carbohydrate, high protein diet and he eats mainly natural foods.
He takes 5 to 6 meals a day.
After splitting up with Reese Witherspoon, he lost some weight. He is now with a food delivery service which provide healthy food. It contains lots of fruits and vegetables. No refined sugar and trans fats.

Like Madonna, Ryan Phillippe has made working out part of his way of life. Most Hollywood celebrities bulk up or slim down when they have to shoot for a movie. But, Ryan has been working out consistently and he is able to maintain such routine with chiseled physique for ten years. Rainy or sunny days, he simply lives a healthy lifestyle with a beach-ready body throughout his career. Philippe knows that he already in his mid thirties and he has to work twice as hard for half the results.
Ryan works out to keep himself strong. In his own words, “I feel working out makes me a better dad. I’m more relaxed and in a better mood. I want to throw my kids up in the air and wrestle them. Working out has become about functionality. I want my head clearer, I want to relieve the stress, and I want to feel capable and strong.” he said. “I’m getting old, so it’s key to massaging the aging process.”
Before I stop, one thing worth mentioned again is that Ryan trains with partner or trainer. He normally works out with either his trainer or Jake Gyllenhaal, or both. Yes, the Prince of Persia, actually is a good friend of Ryan. Workout partner helps keep him inspired to stay committed to his workout routine.

Do you think Ryan uses fat burners – and which one? He can’t be that low in body fat naturally.
