Sometime ago, researchers discovered that a particular “vanilla scented patch” may help people curb their cravings for chocolates and sweets. Based on this unexplained finding, a company has invented a fragrance, Scentology Crave Control Fragrance.
Scentology Crave Control Fragrance was developed by Rachel Herz, Ph.D., a psychologist at Brown University’s Medical School and author of “The Scent of Desire.”
I have heard people using aromatherapy to overcome hunger craving during fasting, but with limited success stories.
Therefore, I still think that will power is more important. Once you can control what goes into your mouth, the rest will follow. In other words, Scentology Crave Control Fragrance looks like a gimmick to me. Another reason I am skeptical is that I may want to eat more after I smell the vanilla scent.
The company actually has another fragrance which aims to enhance exercise performance called Scentology Enhancer Fragrance. According to the company, this enhancer contains peppermint active that maximizes alertness and boost physical energy. Use it for the “lasting time” on the bed?
No, I am not so sure whether it is meant for that.

Hey Mun,
Good article. I agree, I doubt this would work. Plus are you supposed to go to work smelling like chocolate?
What I do to get my craving down is actually have some chocolate….chocolate flavored protein that is. This way I get my chocolate fix but I am also consuming something healthy.
