Obesity is no longer just a health issue confined for human, but also for our pets. Some people may think fat dog is cute, but just like human, extra weight will be a burden for the dog too.
I came across a new gadget from the Internet – Kao Body Fat Checker for dogs. This device is created by a Japanese company, Kao. You just have to tap the dog’s flesh like touching it to the dog’s back to get the reading on the LCD screen instantly. Hopefully, by monitoring the body fat, the owner will be spending more time to bring the dog for walk and control its diet. So far, it is only available in Japan, but I believe that it definitely has a market over here seeing more and more household spending more for their pet dogs. According to Kao’s press release, between 20% and 30% dogs are overweight in Japan.
Get one and I am sure your dog will appreciate that. However, before taking care of your dog, make sure you take care of your health too. In fact, that is a popular saying, “If your dog is fat, you’re not getting enough exercise.”

How about fat cat or any other type of pets? Is that Kao Body Fat Checker only suitable for dogs?

To Vertigo: Oh, that device is only meant for dog. This thing is created by Japanese which mainly are dog lovers. As for fat, sorry, not that I know of.
