When he started his career, for some people, he looked scrawny even he already had lean muscles with 6 pack abs. Now, with months of good workout and diet, he started to look better with muscles on his arms. Rumor said that he has been using steroids to gain the muscle mass.
Zac born in 1987 and he is only 23 years old in year 2010. He is young and healthy. It is indeed not difficult to gain muscle mass in relatively short time, provided he does it right in the gym and dinner table. Taylor Lautner did it within short time too. So, I doubt that Zac took juice as the shortcut. In fact, he has been seen by many reporters frequenting gym religiously several times a week.

Zac Efron’s Workout
Whenever possible, Zac Efron spends hours with his personal trainer at gym. He does cardiovascular exercise, free weight followed by resistance machine. He is now sticking to 6-day a week gym routine.
For now, Zac is no where close to Hugh Jackman or Ryan Reynolds, but, Zac sports a torso which is aesthetically good and look athletic – somewhere between a fashion model and fitness model. The main reason he looks athletic because he also spend much time in outdoor activities such as trekking, swimming, surfing, playing tennis and basketball. Also, don’t forget that he has to spend time preparing his role in High School Musical which he has to do much choreography dances. After all, it is a pretty athletic movie.
Talking about surfing, it is a good activity to work on one’s core muscles including abs. You have to use your abs and lower back muscles a lot to keep yourself balance on the board.

Zac Efron’s Diet
Zac’s trainer told him to watch out of what he put into his mouth. Rule of thumb, the less foods he consumes that have bar codes on them, the healthier he is. In other words, he was told to avoid packaged food.
Zac loves poached eggs on white toast with ketchup, oatmeal and strawberry banana smoothie. He has to get himself to eat more to get more calories.
In short, Zac gained his body shape not by steroid, but on what he does on the surfing board and in the gym. Let’s see whether Zac will be able to bulk up with more muscles, assuming that his future movies will have a more mature role rather than being a teenager. Or may be he just wants to keep up what he has now…
