I was excited to join Body Combat class since I have heard much about this class from friends. What is Body Combat?
Nope, it does not involve soldiers fighting in a combat like in Black Hawk Down, one of my favorite movies.

According to my friend, Body Combat is the most intense fun you will have with two feet on the ground. Puzzled. Wonder how he has reached that conclusion. It is just like telling me that the cock is the most interesting animal because he has not seen a pussy cat before.
OK, back to the topic. Though Body Combat is a martial art based exercise, it is a non-contact fitness program with moves drawn from Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Kung Fu, kickboxing, Muay Thai and Tai Chi. No worry, it does not mean that you need to know any of these martial arts to start learning Body Combat. (more…)

As much as I want to share more information about weight loss, I rather take a step back and start everything from basic. So, today, let’s take a closer look at cholesterol.
So, what exactly is cholesterol?
Cholesterol is a type of fat found in our blood. Our liver produces about 1,000 milligrams of cholesterol a day. Apart from that, cholesterol is found in foods from animal sources. So, eggs, meats, fish, and whole-fat dairy products (whole or low-fat milk, cheese and ice cream) all have cholesterol whereas vegetables, fruits, and grains contain none though.

I am not really interested whether Ryan Reynolds is still dating Alanis Morissette or Scarlett Johansson. The reason I wrote about him is his solid body shape. Ryan Reynolds transformed his body when he was preparing for his role of Van Wilder Hannibal King in Blade Trinity. Rumor said he did not only gain 20 pounds of muscles, but also reduced his body fat percentage from 11% to 3%. Whether the body fat percentage was really 3%, which many doubted so, the point is to look at his workout regimen as well as his diet plan and learn something out from his transformation success. If you wonder how tall Ryan Reynolds is, he stands at 6 feet 2, about 188 cm.
Reynolds trained under the guidance from Darren Chapman. Many dropped their jaws after seeing Reynolds’ solid body shape on the big screen. Read on to learn his secret behind this successful change which took about 5 months.

Before the transformation

After 5 months of workout and successful diet plan (more…)

Getting enough quality sleep is important. If you have an exciting night life, then a daytime nap may be good for you. However, given a choice, a better solution is to go to bed earlier. If you want to take any nap, limit your time to 20 or 30 minutes. Any longer period, you will probably wake up feeling groggy instead of alert.
Say, going to bed earlier at night is never an option for you, have you ever thought of taking a nap in the office, after your (heavy) lunch? (more…)

After seeing the photos taken in Review of True Fitness at Desa Sri Hartamas (1), let’s look at the membership fee. Also, I will also share with you what I like and things to watch out before you sign up.
Similar with California Fitness, the standard processing fee is RM99. Initially, I did not understand why they need so much money to process and wonder how tough the process is. Later, I realized that it is just one of the sales gimmicks.
When it first opened, True Fitness has less membership packages as compared to more than 20 packages nowadays. The fee has also been adjusted upward. (more…)
