Mosquitoes get attracted to you from your breathing.  It is the carbon dioxide that make them stick to you.  Mosquitoes are also attracted by scents such us perfume, body odor, sweat or even body heat.  This factor explains why some people seem to be mosquito magnet whereas others do not get a single bite.  Those people who are safe from mosquito emit an odor that masks them from the insect.  Because this variation has much to do with body chemistry, it explains why a remedy is effective for one person, but may not work for another.

Understand What Calorie Deficit Is and Learn To Lose Weight The Right Way

I have been encouraging people to do incorporate weight training in their exercise and watch their diet to lose weight. You may think that I am nagging, but for weight control, they are highly recommended. In this post, I am going to tell you why.

First, in order to lose body weight, your body must be in a state of negative calories. You can achieve this goal in one of two ways:

  • Eat below you current calorie base (amount of calories needed to sustain your current body weight);
  • Increase the amount of activity you do that burns up more calories.

In order to get the best results, a combination of both is recommended. By increasing the amount of activity you do, you will not have to reduce all that much calories from your diet. (more…)

Trapezius muscle, or commonly known as traps, is the muscle between your neck and shoulders.  Traps are important for boxers and baseball players, where throwing motion is required.


  1. Grab a pair of dumbbells.  Palms facing each other.  Let the dumbbells hang at your sides.  Your arms are fully extended.  Your legs should be closed so that your thighs do not block the weights from moving. (more…)

Jake Gyllenhaal’s Workout For The Prince Of Persia

“Being an actor is so hard. Being in shape is so hard, too, and being paid to get into shape is even harder.”  Jake Gyllenhaal, 2010.


I started to know Jake Gyllenhaal from the movie The Day After Tomorrow in 2004, but I believe it was the movie Brokeback Mountain that really made him popular.  He is a good actor.  Most of us know him as a tall and lanky figure with good acting talent, not an action hero.  Recently, I was amazed by his transformation when I watched Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.  Impressive muscles on shoulders, chest and arms.  He even graced the May 2010 cover of GQ Magazine and got a place in the top ten “Men’s Health 2010 Best Summer Bodies”.
