Do You Wash Your Fruits and Vegetables, Even If They Are Organically Grown?

My aunt is a fan of organic food.  That day when I went over and saw her preparing meal, I was surprised to see her not washing them before pouring into the wok.  She told me that she does not have to worry about pesticides with organic food.

Is that true?

Legs Workout (10) – Glute Kickbacks

Glute Kickback is good for ladies or even guys who want firm butt. Main muscle being worked out is the gluteus maximus. Hamstring will be involved too. Lower back, abdominal and triceps muscles will be used as stabilizers in this butt workout.

How Not To Get Drunk Easily? 10 Tips To Help You To Drink More Without Getting Drunk.

I do not encourage people drinking. However, once in a while, you may give yourself a break for a drinking sessions with friends. Here are 10 tips of not getting drunk easily:

  1. Make sure you have something in your stomach before you drink. I found out the eating big meal will improve tolerance level. Eat food high in carbohydrates and fat as they slow down the alcohol absorption rate into your body. However, please remember that eating before drinking does not stop you from getting drunk, just that it delay it from happening. I read that Russian eat a couple of boiled potatoes, drinks one or two raw eggs then drink another one teaspoons of olive/sunflower oil before they go for vodka fest. I haven’t tried this method, but I believe that it works based on the same concept – food high in carbohydrates and fat. (more…)

What Do You Do With Overly Ripe Fruit?

When I opened my fridge and saw the overly ripe banana, just about I wanted to throw it away, my friend stopped me.  “Don’t you know you can make a smoothie using this banana?”

I was stunned.

Yeah, too often I tend to buy too much fruits, including banana, kiwi or papaya.  They get overly ripe before I finish them.  Now, with food prices climbing higher, it is more costly (and irresponsible too) to toss these fruit into thrash bin. (more…)

How To Motivate Yourself To Exercise By Marking Your Calendar

When I first started working out, one of the ways to motivate myself to build the habit, I used a little trick. Every time after I came back from gym, I would mark that day with an “X” in my calendar. The markings gave me a quick overview on how frequent I have been working out that month. (more…)
