Can I Work Out or Exercise After Donating Blood?

If you are healthy person who has been exercising regularly, after you donated blood, you wonder whether you can exercise right after that.

The answer is no.  You should only exercise after at least 5 hours of resting. Do not run, swim, do weight training or other rough movements during the first 5 hours of donation. In fact, even after that period, your competitive performance in the court or track may be affected.

Do You Really Need Bike Helmet While You Are Cycling?

I just watched a documentary talking about the law of getting cyclist to wear helmet. I am talking about leisure activity of cycling, and not the downhill mountain bike or those involved in Extreme games. Apparently, many states in US and countries like New Zealand have already make it compulsory to wear helmets while cycling.

I cycled when I was a kid. I fell and get myself injured, but not on my head. Bruises and minor cuts on my elbows and knees were common. So, I was the generation grew up cycling without helmets. (more…)

Back Workout (6) – Superman

Burger King + Microsoft = Windows 7 Whopper

In late October 2009, together with Microsoft, Burger King introduced a gigantic 7-layer Windows 7 Whopper.  The promotion was done to mark the official launch of the latest operating system software in Japan. The intention of the campaign was to reach out to non-techie audience who may not be aware of Windows 7.  As for Burger King, after closing down all restaurants in Japan in year 2001, it reopened outlets in Japan in year 2007 and it hoped to piggyback on Microsoft brand to attract more customers.  This special Whopper is the biggest burger it has ever marketed. Abs Workout (7) – Pike and Plank

Plank and pike workout is a good full body exercise for the abdominal muscles. I am not complaining traditional crunches is not good, but to really get the core muscles to work hard, plank and pike is a better choice. Plank and pike is also practiced in Pilates.


  1. Start with toes on the stability ball and body completely straight. Palms on the floor aligned under shoulders. Do not let your body to sag or elevate. You are doing plank now. Maintaining this position itself is not easy. (more…)
