Early last month, I was not feeling well for couple of days. Zgodnje prejšnji mesec, sem bil ne počuti dobro za nekaj dni. Having sore throat and cough. Ob vneto grlo in kašelj. But, I was wondering whether I should push myself to pump the iron. Ampak, sem se spraševala, ali naj bom push sebi črpalko železa. Just now, managed to catch an interesting conversation with a seasoned personal trainer. Samo sedaj, uspelo ujeti zanimiv pogovor z začinjeno osebnim trenerjem.
Here is what I have learned: Tukaj je kar sem se naučil:

- If your symptoms are below the neck , say high fever, chest congestion, muscle and joint pains, as experienced in flu, you should not exercise until you recover. Če simptomi so pod vratom, pravijo visoka telesna temperatura, bolečine v prsih zastojev, v mišicah in sklepih, kot so vladale v gripi, ne bi morali opravljati, dokler ne izterja. Why? Zakaj? Training in this condition will not give you any any real training effect, so you are wasting time and energy. When we are sick, our muscles are not working but our immune system will be working hard. Even if you have cold and still decide to run or cycle, if you do not feel well, stop exercising immediately and rest. Ko smo bolni, naše mišice ne delujejo, ampak naš imunski sistem bo trdo delajo. Ne hraniti si prizadeva za napačen razlog. Also, if you are infected by virus, do not go to gym. No body will come up to you and say thank you for sharing your infection. In fact, we should exercise to stay healthy before we get sick and not only wait till we have cold then only we want to exercise. I tried to work out once when I was just having a cold. Poskušal sem, da izdelajo enkrat, ko sem bil šele ob hladno. Because I didn't take a very hot shower after that, I caught the flu. Ker jaz ne bi zelo vroč tuš po tem, ujel sem gripe.
Anyway, I noticed that after I get either the cold or flu, my chest feels rather congested and I can't seem to have enough lung capacity to exercise at the level I was before. Thanks for the info as I was wondering about this question for quite some time. Hvala za info, kot sem se spraševala o tem vprašanju kar nekaj časa. I went for a pilates class when I got cold. Šla sem za pilates razreda, ko sem dobil hladno. As a result it made me worse and got to visit the doctor at last. Zaradi tega me je slabše in moraš obiskati zdravnika zadnji. I was warned by elderly that not suppose to do any exercise when get cold or flu. Me je opozoril, ki jih starejši, ki ne bi smel storiti vajah, ko dobite prehlad ali gripo.

My yoga teacher has also told us not to exercise when we are sick. Moj učitelj joge je tudi povedal, da nam ne izvaja, ko smo bolni.
Anyway, I'm not that “hardworking” to think of exercising when I'm sick. Kakorkoli že, jaz nisem, da "pridni" razmišljati o izvajanju, ko sem bolan. Lots of rest and lots of water is the best medicine. Veliko počitka in veliko vode, je najboljše zdravilo.

Thanks for the information! Hvala za informacijo! Otherwise I'll continue my mistake forever. Sicer bom še vedno moja napaka. I always thought exercising will make my fever go away as I sweat. Vedno sem mislil izvajanje bo moj kuge oditi, kot sem znoj. Last week I was down with quite a terrible flu, all symtoms mentioned above were significant including a lower, back neck muscle pain. Prejšnji teden sem bil dol z njim precej strašen gripe, so bili vsi symtoms zgoraj omenjene pomembne tudi nižje, nazaj vratu, bolečine v mišicah. So I thought exercising is a good idea. Pa sem mislil izvajanja je dobra ideja. Naturally my stamina was lousy and feel very tired easily but my fever was gone after I sweated. Seveda mi vzdržljivosti je zanič in se počutite zelo utrujeni enostavno, vendar mi vročina je odšla, ko sem sweated. So I thought that was the end of my fever, heck, but noooo…….it got worst after a few hours! Pa sem mislil, da je konec mojega zvišana telesna temperatura, pekel, toda noooo ... .... Je dobil najslabše po nekaj urah! My throat got even drier, neck muscle more painful, even worst fever than before because I feel very cold in normal tempreture. Moje grlo imam še lase, mišice vratu, bolj boleče, celo najhujši vročina kot prej, ker se počutim zelo hladno v normalnih tempreture. Luckily I went to see the doctor and I recovered the next day. K sreči sem šel k zdravniku, in sem si opomogel naslednji dan. Thank goodness! Hvala bogu! :-) Now only I know exercise isn'ta good idea when we aren't feeling well. :-) Zdaj šele vem izvaja isn'ta dobra ideja, ko smo se ne počuti dobro.

Good post Mun. Dober post Mun. You have got it spot on when you say “Missing a week of workout will not deteriorate your fitness level significantly”. Imaš ga na kraju samem, ko rečeš "Missing teden vaja ne bo poslabšalo vaše fitnes ravni pomembno". In fact I usually take a week off from the gym every 8 weeks or so just to give my body a rest, regardless of whether I am ill or not. V bistvu sem ponavadi sprejmejo teden sveže iz telovadnice vsakih 8 tednov, ali tako, samo da moje telo počitek, ne glede na to, ali sem bolan ali ne. I think it's good to have a rest period a few times a year just to let your body fully recharge. Mislim, da je dobro imeti počitka nekajkrat letno le pustiti telesu popolnoma napajanja.

Good information. Dobre informacije. I'm in training for a half-marathon – my first real running adventure – and I'm like sponge when it comes to what to do and not to do. Jaz sem v usposabljanje za pol-maraton - moj prvi pravi tekmovanje v teku avanturo - in jaz sem kot goba, ko gre za kaj storiti in ne storiti. Excellent post! Odličen post! I have attempted to work out with a flu once and after that, my flu got much worse and I was sick for more than 2 weeks! Sem poskušal rešiti z gripo enkrat in po tem, moje gripi dobil veliko slabše in sem bil bolan več kot 2 tedna!
Lesson learnt : Never do any intensive workouts when sick and especially at the early stage of sickness for 2 reasons. Izkušnje: nikoli ne intenzivne vadbe, ko bolne, in zlasti v zgodnji fazi bolezni za 2 razlogov.
Reason 1 – our immune system already weakened from the sickness will have a uphill task of fighting the sickness if it's further weakened by intensive exercise. Razlog 1 - naš imunski sistem že oslabljen od bolezni bo klanec naloga za boj proti bolezni, če je dodatno oslabila zaradi intenzivne vadbe.
Reason 2 – it's bad on our part to spread virus in the gym. Razlog 2 - to je slabo na naši strani, da širjenje virusa v telovadnici. Flu virus spread easier by touch more than by air, so if you don't wipe all those machines you touched with a disinfectant, you will very likely pass to others. i worked out during a cold which caused my cold to last three weeks. Delala sem v letu hladno, ki je povzročila moji hladno, da zadnje tri tedne. THREE. Tri. i would get better and get immediately sick again. jaz bi lahko bolje in si takoj spet bolan. i was scared to miss a good workout for a week in case i lost any progress or gained weight, so when i did workout during that week, it ended up getting me so ill that i couldnt work out for an addition two more weeks. Prestrašen sem bil zamudil dobro vaja za teden dni, če sem izgubil nobenega napredka ali pridobljene teže, tako da, ko sem storil vaja v tem tednu, je končal pridobivanje mi tako slabo, da jaz strjena izdelajo za dodatek še dva tedna.

Reading this article just stopped me from making a potential mistake. Branje tega člena samo zaustaviti, me bi možne napake. I sit here in the office coughing up goo and completely stuffed up. I wanted badly to go to the gym for some heavy lifting as my work day is over and vacation is a week away, however as a scientist I had a nagging “don't go! It was reassuring to remember that my little jacked muscles wont waste away in a week (scientificially 2 weeks until any muscle loss at no activity-yup Im a geek!) and reading others' comments further pushed me away from the gym and into the kitchen to make some chicken soup then off to bed early.
