Not many realize that food colors play important factor in getting us to eat. Researchers found that red and yellow are easier to trigger our craving for food. Look at some of the popular fast food logos and you may agree with what the experts said. McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Kenny Rogers and others all have red or yellow color which is considered as hunger stimulant.
So, what is the color which makes food least appealing to our eyes?
Blue.
Seldom we find many food in blue color. Food in green, yes. Food in brown, yes. Food in blue, probably only Pepsi Blue which is eventually phased out due to low sales.

So, blue food or drink seems to be rare. Based on this finding, Japanese has gone a step further in their innovation in weight loss gadget – Blue Weigh Loss Glasses. These blue sunglasses will deceive your eyes that the tasty foods served in front of you does not look appetizing. The foods will look dull and boring.

Having said that, to get one to eat, in addition to the color, smell of food and its texture may attract people to eat it. On the other hand, compared these blue glasses and weight loss pills, I will recommend the former because you prevent the food from going into your mouth whereas weight loss pills are trying to “cure” the problem.
Given a choice, I still think we should enjoy the foods we eat. Mindfully consume the food is always better than using unconventional way to cheat ourselves in eating less.
Otherwise, people will make the shape of the food to look like poo. Ahem.
