  • As for resistance or weight training, after the workout, I suggest that you to take combination of protein and carbohydrates. In a nutshell, what to eat and how much to eat depends on your workout intensity and duration.     BTW, there are studies which show that post-workout (with heavy lifting) carbohydrates do not improve protein synthesis any more than non-carb post workout consumption.
