Normally, almost all the activities we can do without clothes are enjoyable. Now, you can have nude workout in Netherlands. Patrick de Man, owner of the Fitworld gym has set up a “Naked Sunday” for his gym. About a dozen middle-aged and elderly men were brave enough to appear in front of reporters and television crews to exercise naked when the gym first opened its door. No women nudists attended on the day though. Staffs wore aprons with a nude body painted on.
When many critics are having doubt about its survival, the gym has received inquiries from nudists as far away as Russia and Australia. Local council has also supported the gym because it promoted fitness and nudists have a right to freedom of expression. The Netherlands is well known for its relaxed sexual attitude. You can see topless women on beaches. Also, prostitution is legal in designated areas in that country.
As for hygiene issue, the gym has prepared disposable seat covers for the bikes and weight machines. Other machines are cleaned and disinfected daily too. To tackle on the issue of pervert, the gym has certain guidelines to filter the memberships so that peeping tom will not get into the gym.
Few interesting things in my mind:
- Without clothes, it is hard to have your iPod while working out unless you have the strap.
- Some people spent so much in gym clothes to hide their flabby arms, huge butts or other flaws. So, asking them to working out in nude may not be what they want.
- For guys, it will be hard to hide your hard-on when you see a sexy girl. And if you drop the dumbbell on your most fragile part, the pain can be unbearable.
- When you do squat and if you need a spotter behind you, make sure you get someone you can trust. Also, can you imagine how is going to be for the naked spotter in bench pressing?
We will see whether naked gym will come to this part of the world. What do you think, will you join a naked gym? How about Naked Yoga?

A novel idea. Trust the Dutch they love their nudity. Topless women can be found all over Europe whether at the beach or in the local park or at the river. Not really an issue.
I think it’s great the nudists have the opportunity to express their freedom. So long as the hygiene doesn’t become an issue then why not I say.

dressing in the gym is not just for modesty. it is also about convenience, support for the vital parts and hygienic reasons. anyway my tongue in cheek answer for naked gym : hahahaha no way! hahaha
