First Anniversary of and Moving Forward

As sad as I was one year ago after the loss of my old blog, but, today, I am a happy man.

The new version of was launched one year ago today. This blog has come a long way since then, with a growing traffic of more than 60,000 pageviews a month. Of course the site itself has continued to change, thanks to my beloved readers. It is an excellent moment to look back and see how we have got here together.

The site was first built with the sole intention to do review of fitness centers in Malaysia, but much of the direction has since been changed to include more relevant health/fitness topics. The change was by chance, rather by design.

My dream stays the same. Some of my friends know that I want to keep this blog going strong, not for 1 year, but for 5 years, until the day of 31 July 2012. “It is crazy to blog such long”. “Are you sure?” Those are the common remarks I heard. I still believe that it is good to begin with the end in mind. The next 4 years, I may write less, but I will still write. To continue to write with passion and keep the momentum high up and running, is indeed a tall order. My limited knowledge in website design/programming and busy schedule has made things difficult. My persistence stays, I still do it no matter what, even if that meant sacrificing some sleep. When the site keeps growing, it is one of my greatest feelings. I want nothing but the best. How good can this site be? I invite you to stick around and see.

This blog took off with a slow start. It was quite frustrating that people went to my defunct old site which is then being directed to a porn site. Fortunately, the crowd came back after some time. In November 2007, the post on How Ryan Reynolds Build His Body has taken this site to a new stage. Overseas readers have started to recognize I am flattered by the kind sentiment I got from feedback. But, not all are kind though, as expected. That is fine. The conversation I had, the friendship I made, the people I have helped, have been rewarding.

Also, what will happen after 31 July 2012? I do not have the answer. I know the day may come eventually, either you are sick of this site or I am tired of being here. It can be earlier, we never know, but, as of now, let’s cherish the moment we have, be it days or months.

Thanks for many who have left comments in many of the posts here. You have given me a chance to learn. You have helped me to do things better. Thanks for other readers who have been great supporters throughout this journey. Not forget to mention those who have contributed as guest authors here. I may be the creator of this place, but I am not always the leader. I let my readers lead me. As I always believe, this site is with you and for you.

    It is indeed good to know you all are making progress too.

    Why write for 5 years? It is just nice, not long, but not a short period too. My initial target was 3 years, but I rather aim BIG, so that I will push my self a bit harder… ;o)

    hi mun, first of all congrats for ur 1st anniversary… fyi i’ve gained a lot of knowledge bout fitness from ur blog and everytime i read ur articles it encouraged me to go to gym… thanx a lot for being a responsible blogger and sharing knowledge with us…. keep on sharing ur knowledge about fitness (and funny stories at gym) with us…. adios!!!!!
