How To Build Body Like Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz was a model before she first appeared in The Mask with Jim Carrey in year 1994.  It is her role as Mary Jensen in There’s Something About Mary that really made many start paying attention to her.  Her later role in Charlie’s Angels firmly put her as one of the A-List Hollywood celebrities.  In August 2008, Forbes Magazine even listed Cameron Diaz as the highest paid actress.

Today, let’s look at how Cameron Diaz keep herself slim and look good in front of camera.  If you look at some of her most recent photos, I am sure you will pay notice to her toned arms.  Well into her mid thirties, she has worked hard to take care of her body and health.


Cameron Diaz’s Workout Routine

Cameron trains with her personal trainer, Teddy Bass.  Before Charlie’s Angels, her physique is not as great as today.  Not that she was fat.  Being a model, she was thin and tall.  She has never exercised.  Her body transformation journey started about 10 years ago, thanks to the 3-month martial arts training she endured for Charlie’s Angels.  Her body turned from slender to toned and she has built up a great level of anaerobic fitness and muscular endurance.  She realized that she is stronger and healthier after working out.  Ever since then, she never look back and continue her training.  Nowadays, she has an organized aerobic and weight training program and she spends about an hour a day to exercise.

Just like Jennifer Aniston, Cameron enjoys outdoor recreational sports activities.  She is an avid surfer and snow boarder.  She hikes and plays golf too.  Outdoor activities are fun and they make her enjoys doing them on regular basis.  Those activities not only are good calorie burners, but also serve as great alternatives to give Cameron a break from  indoor workout routine.





In case you like her toned legs, these leg exercises are what she does:

  • Squats with dumbbells
  • Leg presses
  • Lunge, reverse lunge and steps up holding medicine ball
  • Leg extensions
  • Leg curls

If you admire Cameron Diaz’s flat abs, you will need do cardiovascular exercise just like her – at least 30 minutes each session, 3 to 5 times a week, to burn fat so that the abs definition is obvious.  She loves doing cardio on elliptical trainer, treadmill and stationary bike so that her body does not adapt to only a single cardio routine. She likes elliptical trainer the most.  Why?  Because it helps her to contract her abs in order to stay upright.

During an interview when she was asked about her passion of exercising, she said “I love being physical. I love sweating. I love getting my heart rate up. I love challenging myself. Physically, I can do pretty much anything I put my mind to, and I like that feeling.”


Cameron Diaz’s Diet Plan

Cameron normally eats 5 to 6 small meals daily.

  1. Meal 1: She always eat breakfast and she eats high protein foods like skinless chicken breast as breakfast.  On the day she will be out surfing, she has garlic rice with broccoli and eggs too to give her body plenty of energy.  Consuming protein in early morning is quite a smart weight control approach.  It makes her feeling full and less likely to binge on junk food.
  2. Meal 2: Protein shake
  3. Meal 3: Salad and lean chicken or beef
  4. Meal 4: Fruit and a handful of nuts
  5. Meal 5: Egg white omelet with herbs or fish, tomato, onion, mushrooms

In addition to that, Cameron admits that she eats junk food in moderation occasionally.  She does not want to feel completely deprived so she allows herself to indulge in food which she likes occasionally.  Yes, as long as she does not eat it frequently, this small splurge will not sidetrack her effort to stay slim.  She mentioned that during her younger days, she could ate fried chicken, onion rings and then drank half a bottle of wine before going to bed.  But as she gets older, she knows that she can no longer afford those unhealthy eating habit.

    Is Cameron Diaz going out with A-Rod? They are 2 single, consenting adults so they can do anything they would like to do. At least they are not wed and playing about on their spouses.
