How To Build Sexy Body Like Marisa Miller?

October 13th, 2008 · 16 Comments ·

Marisa Miller is a famous model hired by Victoria’s Secret for its lingerie catalogs. Nowadays, Marisa Miller has appeared in many magazine covers, including Fitness, Shape and Vegas. She appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition for the consecutive 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and the latest 2008 edition.

Many thought that she got her body easily. But, the real truth is that she works hard to get that hot body shape. Before Marisa Miller is a model, she was active in volleyball during high school time. She was a star player in the position as outside hitter in the game.

Marisa Miller’s Workout Regimen
Here are few activities she has incorporated as part of her workout program:

  • Marisa lives in Southern California and her home is about 10 minutes from the beach. She likes surfing because she believes that surfing is a total body workout – the paddling part builds her stamina; pulling herself up is great for her arms; the balancing gives her leg and core muscles a great workout.
  • If she does not surf due to bad weather, she will spin her stationary bike at home. She likes spinning because she wants to tone her butt and legs.
  • Recently, she is addicted to boxing, not the kick boxing or Ti-Bo, but those in boxing gym. Jabs, hooks, uppercuts, ducking, squat-like moves have given her good total body workout and a great cardio exercise. She found that boxing has helped her to tone her abs even easier. While she was preparing for Victoria Secret show, insiders said that she actually boxed for 10 rounds, each round is 3 minutes with 1-minute break in between.

Marisa Miller’s Diet Preference:

  • Marisa is a fan of organic food and she tries to avoid processed foods.
  • Therefore, she tries to plan what she needs to eat so that she prepares her meal in advanced. For instance, if she knows she is going to fly, she grabs a tuna sandwich, spinach salad and juice smoothie to travel with.
  • In the morning, she usually has English muffin which is grains and legumes with protein in it. Sometimes, she makes omelet with vegetables.
  • As for lunch and dinner, she eats mainly tuna and spinach salad. She seldom eats carbs for dinner because she does not like to sleep on full stomach.
  • If she is at home, she will cook.
  • She spoils herself occasionally with ice cream on her “cheat day”.

Marisa Miller is proud of her body. “I like having a woman’s body. It is not like I am exercising to be skinny. I am the girl who needs curves. I like my butt and boobs!”

We need models like her to reveal more info like this to the young gals out there, that if you want a good body, you got to work for it.

Oh yea, she’s a testament that models still need to eat. :-)

ya all these tips are much useful..

You cannot lose weight using Low Fat Diets. Low fat foods have been popular for more than 15 years, but yet our society is getting more overweight as each year passes. This fact alone should tell you that eating a purely low fat menu is not the answer to losing weight.

Ok – let me come in with a reality check. Models need to eat – I agree with that. I am not knocking Marisa, I am sure she is a very nice lady. But PLEASE will someone recognize that these photos are all shopped to the max?!

Can we go to where the majority of the world is and focus on helping them, not on achieving the improbable (perhaps impossible)?

    ‘Here – here Jamie!’

“But PLEASE will someone recognize that these photos are all shopped to the max?! ”

Not the ones with her on the runway and the one with Heidi Klum,

true that Blue_blood, yes models are photo shopped but they have to have something to start with. If it was as simple as just photoshopping everyone all the time models like her and gisele, miranda, and alessandra wouldnt be as famous as they are. Lets just face it some women are rediculously good looking and she is just one of those women. congrats to her!

Re: The tip about NOT going to bed with a full stomach. I wonder how many hours before she goes to bed does she stop eating. Sounds like 4 because protein takes 4 hrs to digest generally. My problem is if I have digested my food I am hungry. I have a super hard time sleeping on an empty or nearly empty stomach. But I have done it B4 w sleeping pills (unhealthy). Does any1 else have this problem?

  • Chloe // May 28, 2010 at 11:48 AM

@pickles312 i have problems going to bed with anything but an empty stomach. i guess it just needs getting used to? if there’s food in my stomach, i can’t sleep.

I’m 15 and everyone says you will be skinny but i just think that there saying that because they don’t want me obsessing. I can handle my fat anymore
I really really want to look like Marisa Miller:( no one will drive me to the gym. What can I do at home?

  • elina // Dec 10, 2010 at 10:12 AM

Nena, there are a lot of things you can do at home, my advice – start small. If you never been to a gym do not try to do kickboxing first day. I advise buy nice dancing DVD s and make sure you do them up to 5 times a week, minimum 30 minutes. Your goal is to get a habit of exercising. Then, you can add DVD for toning with light weights or resistance bands. Or buy a Zumba kit, you will love it and loose weight at home. I am almost 25, weigh 134 pounds, size 4-6, have the same weight for 8 years. Good Luck.

so i exercise a few times a week but sometimes i just don’t have the time. i used to be a little chubby and i never want to be like that again. i try to do yoga at least 3 times a week. I’m vegan (one of the healthy ones that still gets enough protein and all of the vitamins i need), 15 years old, and a size 2-3. what are some easy workouts that i can do in the mornings that won’t take up a lot of time? please!
