How To Get Kids To Eat Vegetables with Fast Food Branding?

September 25th, 2010 · 1 Comment ·

If I wrap French fries, one with McDonald’s wrapper, one with unknown company wrapper and give it to you, will you think that the one with McD wrapper is better?

This is the best way to show that how much influence advertising has influenced us, especially the kids. One study has been done with 63 children has this outcome – about 70% preferred food in McDonald’s wrapper simply even those wrapped in another unknown wrapper has the same French fries.

If I do the same with fried chicken in KFC packaging, I believe that most kids will say that it is tastier than those wrapped in unknown company wrapper.

In short, branding of food is really an important approach to influence young generations’ mind. Looking at the positive side, may be mothers should wrap the fruits or vegetables with McDonald’s wrapper to get the kids eating them.

    Haha – nice post, Mun.

Funnily enough, my mom actually tried this on me as a kid. She bought a giant bag of frozen chicken nuggets from Sam’s in an attempt to save money that would otherwise be spent at McDonald’s.

I knew the difference between my chicken nuggets immediately.
