One and The Only Secret Way To Lose Fat

October 1st, 2010 · 7 Comments ·

Many people, especially women, have been looking for different ways to lose weight. This morning, I flipped a typical women magazine at my colleague’s desk, I saw advertisements selling magic cream, slimming pills, fat loss treatment packages and other too good to be true weight loss products. Look as if those companies are never getting tired in coming out with new products which promise easy way to lose weight. Unfortunately, customers become the victim of many of these scams but seldom they learn from it. Why? Because they too continue to look for easy fast and way to achieve the ideal weight.

Sad to say, promise remains to be promise. That is only one secret to guarantee you to lose weight. This method has proved to be working well, whether it is in year 1968, 2008 or even 2048. Actually, instead of lose weight, you should lose fat to be exact. Weight can be fat, muscle and bones. What we need to get rid of is the body fat.

So, are you ready?

One And The Only Surefire Way To Lose Body Fat = Make your body in negative calories state.

In layman terms, that way means two things:

  1. Eat less than you need.
  2. Walk more. Run more. Cycle more. In short, do more physical activities, especially cardiovascular exercise.

1) Eating Less and Eating Clean
Diet control is critical in helping to lose weight. For example, if you have been eating four burgers a day, two in lunch time and two for dinner for the past 1 year, assuming you now cut down four to two burgers in a day, you will definitely lose weight. Yeah, I know, I use a bad example of eating four burgers a day. (I doubt anyone will be consuming such a big amount of burgers.) But, the key point I am trying to illustrate is that you can easily lose weight by cutting down your meal volume, especially junk food and processed food.

Even if you do not do any additional exercise, just by reducing what go into your mouth, you have made a big step in slashing your body weight figure.

If you think eating less will make you hungry or tired, you can actually replace those junk food with more quality food. No, quality food does not necessarily mean expensive food. What I mean is to eat clean. Eat more high fiber, low fat whole food, fruits and vegetables. Avoid chocolate, highly sweetened coffee drinks, fried chicken, supersized pizza and jumbo hot dog.

2) Exercise More
If you want to see even better results, in addition to diet control, you should exercise more. Starts from something easy. Walk. Cycle. Run. Swim. Walk your dog. Wash your car. Mop the floor. Learn weight training. Join a fitness class.

When you burn more calories, even if you eat the same amount of food, you will still see the fat loss result. In fact, depends on the situation, gaining weight may not be a bad thing.

Muscle is more compact than fat. So, when you gain weight with weight training exercises, it can be due to the muscle gained. Muscle is a good fat burning engine. So, with more muscles, your metabolism rate will increase and you can burn fat faster!

The Secret That Never Change
So, that is the secret for fat loss. Eat less, exercise more. Write it down and stick it to your office desk, fridge or car dashboard. I know many are let down when I tell them that is the only way. Many are still looking the quick and easy way. Unfortunately, quick way seldom works. Eat less, exercise more, sound simple, but not easy.

Good luck.

I got a shock the other week. I went to the Doctors and he told me that i’d gained 6kg in 6 months. (even though I had lost a dress size!) The doctor scolded me for putting on weight and I left feeling pretty bad.
Then my combat instructor reminded me that I had been doing alot of weight training and increasing my weights alot and that muscle is denser than fat. Which would explain why i’ve gained weight but lost a size. I’ve now taken an approach to not concentrate on my weight, rather waist size etc.

    … still, i’ve cut out chocolates… again :P :)

Excellent read. It’s like an endless myriad of products out there promising benefits they can never fulfill. Or, if they do fulfill it, your body may experience something completely different after.

There is something to be said about the value of traditional activity and exercise, how you lose something by doing something about it.

What about ingrown toes?… I know this seems like the wrong spot for this question but ive been harassed by two ingrown big toes for 11 years now. Not having the funds or insurance to professionaly take care of it, ive gotten real good at doing it myself. The thing is, its hard to run, and its really painful too, to run jog, or even walk somtimes.
This being said, Im at 68 inches tall (5’8″) at 210lbs. My goal is to get to 181lbs (for military purposes but thats not important)
Not being able to run or jog or even hike (for now) what exercises can i do on top of not eatting as much? Because I’ve really cut my food intake, i was at 225lbs just a few weeks ago. i seem to have leveled out at 205lbs and 210lbs.

(This is my favorite blog btw, i got it on my facebook too xD
Good job with the site *Kudos*)

Wise advice. Eat less, do more, get used to feeling hungry for the rest of you life and expect to achieve nothing significant in less than 6-9 months.

Hi i would like to say that this is really good article, but i think that eating less isn’t the way to lose weight.
I would say eating less but more often and as you said “clean” is the way to lose body FAT.

Hi, there. Nice Post. I think that the simplest trick of losing weight is to burn more calories than what you are consuming. Find out your ideal weight and chalk out a fitness routine that will help you to fulfill your health goals. Ideally, a fitness program should include eating a balanced diet and exercising on a regular basis.
