    i do this all the time.

    i started with sprint as fast as i can for the last 15 seconds (15kmh), and i add 15 seconds every week. by end of the 1st month – i sprint for 1 minute.

    now, i sprint the last 90 seconds.

    Remember that intensity is more important than duration if fat loss is your goal! Better off doing sprints/walks for 20 minutes than running for an hour.

    This applies to just about everything. For example, finishing up that first draft of important report? Sprint to the end in a mad-dash writing fervor. When you’re close to finishing something, push yourself. Whatever you do, don’t stop or the momentum might be broken.

    i do this every time, and the feeling at the end of the journey is nice, 100% recomendable.

    I can only agree with my predecessor, I love adding short sprints to my jogging routine and it really gives me a great “you can do it” feeling at the end of every run.

    It is a good way of gauging how much you have left in the tank – if you can sprint all out for the last minute then (depending on how long your run was) you could look to pick up the pace slightly next time you run.

    It does depend on the purpose of the run, however. Some people like to remain within a certain heart beat range for any number of reasons.

    Good tip! I never thought of doing that. I think that it’ll not only take away the boredom but it’ll also be a good way for self-discovery for a person. Knowing that you have transcended your limits in running by experimenting with jogs and sprints will definitely keep you going.

    Hi, there. I don’t think that it is sprinting good idea. Sprinting too quickly and all of a sudden can put unwanted pressure on your heart and body. Many doctors opine that maintaining a healthy heartbeat throughout the whole exercise session is important.
