You Don’t Want To Know How Your Food Is Prepared in Restaurant

September 19th, 2007 · 5 Comments ·

Whenever we eat out, we have to trust the chef is preparing the food to the standard we expect, in terms of cleanliness. You may be surprised to find out how these food are prepared when you go into the kitchen. That is why I prefer not to know what happening at the back, as long as I enjoy the food.

Lately, in New York, a customer of a Chinese restaurant, Dan Barreto, has taken a photo on how the restaurant employee stomping a huge bowl of garlic at the back alley. That person was wearing boots to do that.

So, may be it is time to eat in to ensure the food is hygiene. Even then, we are not sure the conditions the raw ingredients have been exposed to.

By the way, I thought some wine is prepared the similar way where workers tread on the grapes. Isn’t it?

Yup agreed as well, let’s not say bout New York, let’s talk about Malaysia instead. Not all restaurants are as hygienic as you may have thought, but I knew one of the restaurants in Taipan, not going to mention anyway; their employees used their dirty hands, dip into the pot of sambal, and taste it over and over again while adding other ingredients to make it taste better. No wonder it tasted so good…

Use feet too to prepare belacan too?

sylvesteR, I am really curious to know which restaurant in USJ 10 actually serves such a “good taste” of sambal.

Sometimes even buying from hawker stalls, looking at how they prepare the foods or pack the food will disgust us out.

But it is always a need to know the cleanliness of the food we are about to take. Well, if we already know it is not prepared in the healthy way, perhaps shall not consume too much of it.

Mun, it’s one of the kopitiam’s, but as for which you got to figure it out yourself, I don’t want to get blamed for anything, hehe.

And surfnux, to determine the cleanliness of the food, we shall see if the person’s going to the washroom after consuming the food.
